In addition to her roles as Executive Director and principal vegan chef for the Handmade Film Institute, Cynthia Sliker has spent the last decade in nonprofit arts management, acting as the Director of Development for a number of Colorado nonprofit arts organizations including the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, Boulder Ballet, and Rocky Ridge Music Center, and more recently as the Director of Education and Community Engagement for the Boulder Phil.
Prior to turning professionally to nonprofit administration, Cynthia worked as Director of Marketing in the software and technology services sector for CONET USA, Hospitality Systems International, and Symbiotic Systems. She is currently active as a writer of literary nonfiction and poetry, and also as a documentary film producer and editor for Ontos Media. Her plant-based culinary repertoire is an ongoing creative project founded on apprenticeship years spent working in various inspiring restaurant kitchens. She received dual degrees in Music/Violin and English from University of Colorado Boulder.
