2024 Research Weekends are yet to be announced. They will take place outdoors at our location outside Boulder, Colorado, and possibly elsewhere.
Classes
For 2025, we are offering three retreats.
Pacific Northwest Film Camp June 7 – 14, 2025. Spend a week at the beach exploring celluloid film in and out of the water and and forests of Orcas Island in Washington State’s beautiful San Juan Islands.
The Wilderness Film Expedition June 21 – 30, 2025. A backcountry expedition where we shoot, process, edit and premiere in the wilderness, carrying all our gear with us into a high and wild mountain landscape.
Rocky Mountain Handmade Filmmaking Camp July 26 – August 3, 2025. The Handmade Film Institute’s original week-long intensive in the Colorado moutains explores the chemical nature and aesthetic possibilities of film as a hands-on physical medium.
